Emergent/Missional Reading
The above picture is from Tall Skinny Kiwi's blog (real name: Andrew Jones) and is a picture of the 50 books on his Emerging Church Bookshelf.
I don't have 50 books on the Emerging Church - but I'm getting there. It's interesting to see how my book choices have changed throughout the years. In college, I snapped up every Max Lucado book I could find. After college, it was Philip Yancey (who still is my favorite author, I think). And then it was Leonard Sweet. Now, it's a lot of books on the emergent church and missional theology.
Next post will be a picture of the books that have influenced me most (at least so far) when it comes to emergent/missional thinking.

Our book choices evolve (a heretical word in Christendom, no doubt, hah).
My emergent church shelf looks a lot like that; I still have to read most of it (I bought most of them on sale at the C.C.U. bookstore last spring).
Right now I'm getting into all of the commentaries and exegesis on the scriptures; it's often dry, but fascinating. That shelf is a little larger.
I used to be into Max Lucado, too. I even had a "Left Behind" moment (quite a confession). Mostly, though, I just read pie-in-the-sky teen devotionals, but tossed them when I realized the lack of depth.
I read all the Left Behind books until The Beast. Then I had a conversion experience and haven't read them since.
Mine is no where near that many I want to see the picture of yours Adam :) I only read the 1st 2 Left Behind books and just couldn't get into them
